HP Pavilion DV5000 AC Adapter Charger

I ordered this item for my HP Pavillion DV5000 after the original battery charger stopped working due to a ripped cord. The product worked great for about a month. Then one day it stopped working. I think the battery may have overheated, as it gets very hot when charging the laptop battery while I simultaneously use the laptop (instead of just maintaining the battery at 100% power).
